Our CO boys’ basketball team has made it to State! The first game will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm. With proof of a paid ticket and signed permission slip, we will be bussing over Middle School and High School students to cheer on our team to victory. (Elementary students who wish to attend will receive an excused absence but must be checked out and taken to the game with their parents.)
Below are pieces of important information in order for us to have a successful trip:
• ONLY students with a paid ticket and signed permission slip will be allowed to attend.
• ALL students that are going to the game will ride the bus to and from the game.
• We will NOT allow students to be checked out at the game
o Students must be checked out prior to getting on the bus or after we get back in order to go with a parent
• We must follow the arena’s Clear Bag Policy. It is as follows:
The OKC Fairgrounds has a clear-bag policy and walk-through scanners in place for the OSSAA State Tournaments to be held in the Jim Norick Arena. The approved clear plastic tote size is a maximum of 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. The policy will allow non-transparent clutch wallets that are no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, clear fanny packs and clear crossbody bags. Bags that are necessary for medical equipment will be searched at each gate. No other bags or purses including diaper bags will be permitted and the limit on bags is one per person.
• Students will have to go through a metal detector. Anything that will set this off needs to be left at home.
• Students will need to sit in the student section with their assigned teacher
o Except for using the bathroom, students will be expected to be watching the game
o We will not be making trips back and forth to the concession stand
Cheering Etiquette:
• No profanity will be tolerated
• We will NOT boo, heckle, harass, or say anything to the officials or the other team
• Only positive cheering for our team
• We are asking all students to wear black, as this is the color of uniform our boys will be wearing
o Clothing must be school appropriate
If a student is caught violating any of these rules, school consequences will be enforced.
