Announcing The Crooked Oak 4:4 Challenge!

Crooked Oak Public Schools is thrilled to launch our new after-school program, The Crooked Oak 4:4 Challenge—a powerful two-hour block designed to develop well-rounded Ruf-Nex students!

The "4:4" stands for our commitment to four days a week of focused activity, guaranteeing four hours of academics and four hours of extracurricular challenge every week. We're turning after-school hours into structured success!

Program Details

  • Who: All 1st through 6th Grade Crooked Oak Students.

  • When: Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

  • Where: Central Oak Elementary.

  • Structure: Students rotate between two 60-minute sessions each day:

    1. Academic Hour: Focused time for mastery and support.

    2. Extracurricular Hour: Organized, skill-based events, games, or performances.

Why Join?

  • Balanced Focus: We ensure students receive equal attention in both schoolwork and extracurricular activities, making them stronger students and performers.

  • Ruf-Nex Spirit: Students will participate in intramural events and even have opportunities to play or perform at Crooked Oak High School events, boosting our community spirit! (Note: 3rd-6th grade basketball participates in the Destiny Christian Basketball League).

Eligibility & Commitment (Important)

To ensure this program benefits students who are already committed to school activities, eligibility requires:

  • Students must be in Grades 1–6.

  • Students must maintain passing grades in all regular school-day classes.

  • Students must be actively participating in a seasonal school-affiliated extracurricular activity (Soccer, Cheer, Track, Basketball, Band, Football, or Softball) during the program months.

  • Attendance is strict: Students cannot miss more than one day per school week.

Discipline Policy: Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and students may be dismissed from The 4:4 Challenge program.

Key Dates

  • Waiver Release: Monday, October 20th, 2025 (Waivers will be sent home with students).

  • Waiver Deadline: Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the parent meeting (5:30 p.m.) in Central Oak Elementary Cafeteria.

Program Director: Mrs. Kim Landry
