Announcing The Crooked Oak 4:4 Challenge!
Crooked Oak Public Schools is thrilled to launch our new after-school program, The Crooked Oak 4:4 Challenge—a powerful two-hour block designed to develop well-rounded Ruf-Nex students!
The "4:4" stands for our commitment to four days a week of focused activity, guaranteeing four hours of academics and four hours of extracurricular challenge every week. We're turning after-school hours into structured success!
Program Details
Who: All 1st through 6th Grade Crooked Oak Students.
When: Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Where: Central Oak Elementary.
Structure: Students rotate between two 60-minute sessions each day:
Academic Hour: Focused time for mastery and support.
Extracurricular Hour: Organized, skill-based events, games, or performances.
Why Join?
Balanced Focus: We ensure students receive equal attention in both schoolwork and extracurricular activities, making them stronger students and performers.
Ruf-Nex Spirit: Students will participate in intramural events and even have opportunities to play or perform at Crooked Oak High School events, boosting our community spirit! (Note: 3rd-6th grade basketball participates in the Destiny Christian Basketball League).
Eligibility & Commitment (Important)
To ensure this program benefits students who are already committed to school activities, eligibility requires:
Students must be in Grades 1–6.
Students must maintain passing grades in all regular school-day classes.
Students must be actively participating in a seasonal school-affiliated extracurricular activity (Soccer, Cheer, Track, Basketball, Band, Football, or Softball) during the program months.
Attendance is strict: Students cannot miss more than one day per school week.
Discipline Policy: Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and students may be dismissed from The 4:4 Challenge program.
Key Dates
Waiver Release: Monday, October 20th, 2025 (Waivers will be sent home with students).
Waiver Deadline: Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the parent meeting (5:30 p.m.) in Central Oak Elementary Cafeteria.
