Crooked Oak's first all state basketball player in 10 years!

Although we are on summer break, it's important to keep teaching at home. Summer learning loss is common when students “turn off their brains” from school. Teachers surveyed by Expanding Learning said they spend the first 3-4 weeks of the beginning of the school year re-teaching what students forgot from the previous year. Here are some ways you can keep teaching this summer. 1.) Take a book with you on your vacation. 2.) Visit libraries and check their events calendars. 3.) Let kids choose their own books. **ANNOUNCEMENT** Open Transfer Applications for the 2023-2024 school are now open (June 1st). Follow the link to the State Department of Education website to fill out the online application. All processing will be done by the State Department. New student transfers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on the capacity of each grade. Crooked Oak Public Schools is participating in the Seamless Summer Option Program, providing free breakfast and lunch to children 18 years of age and younger. The summer meal program gives children access to nutritious meals over the summer. Updated: Due to a social media post that was brought to our attention, beginning at 1:30 pm, Crooked Oak will be going into a modified lock down until 3:00. Only the front gate will be open to access campus. Crooked Oak schools was not threatened directly, however ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority, therefore we will go into lockdown out of an abundance of caution at 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm.
