Crooked Oak High School is proud to announce that nine of our students have been chosen to serve on the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Oklahoma City Student Board of Directors. This marks our 16th consecutive year of participation in the program. The program is open to juniors and seniors across Oklahoma. Applicants must write an essay about their personal values and how they would use them to improve their community, and they must be in good academic standing.

The Student Board of Directors program introduces students to the Federal Reserve and its role in the U.S. economy. Through conversations with their peers and with business leaders, members build their understanding of economic, financial and career topics. Past Student Boards have taken part in a Money Museum scavenger hunt, etiquette sessions and a StrengthsFinder workshop. They have also met with the Oklahoma City Branch's Board of Directors and visited the Oklahoma City Thunder to see how a local business affects the regional economy.
Our students recently visited downtown Oklahoma City for a program session. They dressed professionally, took notes and collected materials to bring back to campus.
Over the past 16 years, approximately 70 Crooked Oak students have served on the Student Board. That long record reflects the strong tradition of student leadership at Crooked Oak and the lasting partnership between our school and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Oklahoma City Branch.
“Having members on the Student Board since the inception of the program is a testament to how awesome our kids are. Being selected every year shows that Crooked Oak produces the best and the brightest and the Federal Reserve continues to recognize that.”Kyle Pierce, Director of Technology at Crooked Oak, member of the Economic Education Advisory Committee, and school liaison for the Federal Reserve
We are grateful to the Oklahoma City Branch for offering this opportunity to Oklahoma students, and we are proud of these students for representing Crooked Oak High School. Please join us in congratulating them!
