"The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book."

Hello, and thank you for stopping by to visit our class page. This is my 10th year in the classroom and I could not be more excited. I am blessed to be a part of the Ruf-Nex family that works diligently to create a positive environment that accepts all students.

A little bit about me: I am a mom to a sweet baby girl and I have a fiance. I also have a therapy dog who comes to school with me and has for 4 years now. I was born and raised in a small town called Austinburg, Ohio. I moved to Oklahoma City after I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked my way through college waitressing as well as coaching high school tennis and had a full scholarship to play division 2 college tennis for part of my education where I placed second in the NCAA district in singles.

My senior year of college I played a lead role in "The Philidelphia Story" and have a background in music and theatre.

My main passion and hobbies are teaching and tennis. Much of my free time is spent developing new activities for my students as well as continuing my education. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership several years ago and am certified to be a principal as of last year.  My goal this year is to integrate technology into the classroom and create several projects that involve all subject areas.

My philosophy of teaching is that all children can learn and my desire is to highlight their strengths and build confidence in each of my students. I believe in teaching children, not concepts and I make an effort to take an interest in the personal happiness of each child that enters my classroom. The biggest joy in teaching for me is developing a personal relationship with each student. I am blessed to teach your child.
