I am both blessed and honored to be the principal of Central Oak Elementary. Since 2007 when I retired from the United State Air Force, I have served as a classroom teacher, coach, assistant principal, athletic director, principal, and as a university professor teaching college students how to be teachers. I am from Oklahoma and earned my bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and two master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Southwestern State University. My doctorate degree is from Liberty University. I am so excited to be back in the elementary school here at Central Oak. This is the place where adults can make the biggest impact in developing our children. The team of teachers and staff at Central Oak are amazing. They love our children and are absolutely committed to their success. I cannot wait to be in the classrooms and halls working with your children and our teachers to build and create new opportunities for our families and community.

My name is Jamie Bond, and I am honored to serve as the new assistant principal here at Central Oak Elementary—where everyone is someone. I am thrilled to join a school community that values connection, belonging, and the unique strengths each child brings through its doors. The kindness of my first-grade teacher and her inspiring wisdom at the start of each day left a lasting impact on my journey, one that I never realized. One day, I felt embarrassed because I couldn't read in the reading circle without making mistakes. She found me crying on the playground. Looking into my eyes, she kindly said, “Mistakes show you're learning. Jamie, I believe in you—not just now, but for your potential. As you grow, every mistake and victory are part of your development, like a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly. Never fear failure because it is what makes you a beautiful butterfly!" She was an extraordinary teacher who influenced my attitude to persevere and live fearlessly. Later, Mrs. Trivett's influence as my educator motivated me to follow her example, provided me with purpose, and ignited my passion for teaching. After two decades in education, I am proud to join this dynamic school as your assistant principal. I strongly believe in the transformative potential of a growth mindset and how education can profoundly impact lives and build stronger communities. Together, we can create a future full of possibilities. I look forward to working with you all! Warm regards, Jamie Bond, M. Ed. Central Oak Elementary Assistant Principal
