Dear Crooked Oak High School Parents and Students:
Welcome to a new school year. Our first day of school was August 18, 2010. A new school year is always exciting. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. Academic emphasis on the core content areas of English, science, social studies, and math will remain a priority as well as providing a learning program that builds on each year to reach local and state standards. Instruction in the fine arts, foreign language, technology, and physical education complete our program providing each student with the opportunity to develop areas of interest and skill.
As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement. To increase communication between home and school, we are asking all parents to pick up their student’s username and password for the online attendance and grade book program. Parents will be able to check grades and attendance daily. Additional communication network is available on the Crooked Oak website. You can email teachers, view the assignments for each class, sports schedules, special events, and pictures of your student. This has been established to keep you up to date about what is happening at COHS.
Open House on September 16, 2010 is just around the corner. Students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend a school orientation on Thursday, September 16th. This activity will be held in the high school classrooms. Parents will have the opportunity to meet the teachers, guidance counselors, and other COHS staff. Parents may also purchase CO tee shirts at this time.
I encourage you to join us at school activities and participate in our school programs. Please utilize the school website at http://www.crookedoak.org, and the grade book website regularly. I encourage you to join us at school activities establishing strong foundations and being positive role models for your children.
