As required by Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes Section 311, notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 53, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma will hold a Regular Meeting Monday, July 12th at 6:00 p.m. The place and street address of the meeting will be the Board of Education Conference Room, Administration Building, 1901 S.E. 15th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73129.

12. Discuss then vote to approve or disapprove the option under House Bill 1864 giving school districts the option to operate the school calendar by indicating days or hours. It is the school district's intent to maintain a school calendar with 175 instructional days but utilize, if necessary, a new statute allowing schools to opt for a calendar with at least 1080 hours of instruction to allow local control of calendar adjustments for school cancellations due to inclement weather. According to Oklahoma State Law, the Board of Education must declare the calendar method no later than September 15, 2010. (Action) (Mrs. Draper)
